Last week I was so very saddened to learn that a little boy that I had the blessing of helping to bring home went to be with Jesus, sweet Tommy Musser. If you remember, Tommy was the adopted older brother of little Katie Musser, who I have shared about many times on this blog. Katie came home at almost 10 years old and less than 15 pounds and through her families love and care has blossomed into a big, healthy girl!
I have had the pleasure of speaking with Tommy’s mother, Susanna, over the internet and email on several occasions and I know that she loved her children and gave them the very best care. She and her family are devastated by sweet Tommy’s death.
I ask that you pray for them in their difficult time, and if you feel lead, please donate to Tommy’s memorial fund. Anything over the required amount to pay for the funeral costs and Tommy’s gravestone, will be donated to the Pleven project, a not for profit intended to raise awareness and the standard of living for orphans in Tommy and Katie’s former orphanage.
I also ask that you consider praying for our fellow Christians in Iraq. There is currently a genocide being waged against them. We are so blessed to live in the United States where we sometimes throw around the word “persecution”. Friends, people being ugly to us because we don’t support “marriage equality” is nothing compared to being raped and watching your child be beheaded. I urge you to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, that they stand firm in the faith and the God meets them in their suffering. We can also pray that their situation changes! Sitting on my comfortable chair, I do pray that God intervenes and removes them, but I am also reminded of the words of Tertullian… “The more often we are mown down by you, the more in number we grow; the blood of the Christians is seed.” God will use this, nothing will be wasted.
To Christ be the GLORY in all things!
