R&R Fall 2012 has been booked! There’s no going back now. We have decided to visit Jordan. We were originally going to go back in March, but then we changed to Thailand when we found out Nick would have training in Kuala Lumpur.
We actually went back and forth on whether or not to keep Jordan on the agenda for the year – our other options were Salzburg, Austria (home to the Sound of Music!), which would be better to do with one kiddo or Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, which would have been very stress free. Ultimately we decided to keep Jordan because its on my bucket list and we thought that if we didn’t get around to it now, we might never get around to it! Austria is so easy for us to get to travel wise that we can always go later, and Sharm El-Sheikh will be a good one to save for when we have two tiny kiddos to keep track of!
Plus we always try to stay at Marriott Hotels when we travel – those points have come in handy several stressful times (read HERE and HERE), and the Marriott on the Dead Sea is supposed to be a great one with kids. And bonus, there’s a Marriott near Petra!!! So hotel-wise, Jordan was a better option than the other two.
On our trip we will be spending 4 days by the Dead Sea…
Mostly we will just be hanging out at the hotel, but we will visit Bethany Beyond the Jordan, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus (I cry every time I think about that I am lucky enough to go there!), Mt Nebo, where God showed Moses the promised land, and Lot’s Cave, the cave where Lot and his daughters… well you probably know how that story went! We might fit in a few more things depending on how our trip goes.
And then we will spend two days at PETRA!!! We are going to check that Bucket List item right off . I am really excited about this part.
We are set to leave at the end of September, and hit Moscow for a Doctor’s visit on our way back! I am very excited, especially since all of this travel is making 2 Baby’s pregnancy go very, very fast .
